Abstract Scope |
This prestation honors the illustrious career of Prof. Michel Barsoum on the occasion of his 70th birthday, celebrating his groundbreaking contributions to ceramic sciences and engineering. Prof. Barsoum's seminal work on MAX phases has revolutionized the field, introducing more than 300 different carbides and nitrides that combine metal- and ceramic-like properties. His pioneering research on MXenes has opened new frontiers in two-dimensional materials, leading to significant advancements in energy storage, electromagnetic shielding, and environmental applications. Additionally, Prof. Barsoum's recent exploration of a new class of one-dimensional materials has paved the way for innovative solutions in nanotechnology and electronics.
