| Abstract Scope |
Hydrogen is known to adversely affect susceptible weld-metal alloy systems, making it a critical topic for the welding industry. Despite significant efforts to study and understand these concerns, manufacturing environments do not always provide optimal conditions for hydrogen control. Additionally, many codes, standards, industry requirements, and recommended practices address hydrogen-related issues. However, hydrogen problems are typically delayed in nature, making it difficult to identify issues retrospectively after production or to monitor the conditions of common sources during production.
This study discusses common hydrogen sources, industry requirements, and standard practices for monitoring and controlling production conditions. |
