| Abstract Scope |
Given networking apps, building an effective professional network should be easier than ever. So why does it seem harder? It appears we are more independent than ever, which mitigates one key to network building: asking for help. Being willing to ask and/or accept help, even in little things, is a key to deepening your relationships. A complimentary activity is having a conversation or sharing ideas when you are uncertain (or might be wrong). Having a comfortable conversation with a colleague, preferably not in your core field (fresh eyes) is a key component of intellectual growth and progress. Hopefully helpful and entertaining examples will be shared. |
