About this Abstract

Meeting MS&T24: Materials Science & Technology
Symposium Enhancing Recycling and Reuse of Secondary Materials to Support a Circular Economy
Presentation Title N-11: Research on the Application of Vitrification Treatment Technology in the Hazardous Waste Industry
Author(s) Hui Sun
On-Site Speaker (Planned) Hui Sun
Abstract Scope As the “Directory of National Hazardous Wastes” declares, products from the hazardous waste incineration are still harmful, which need to dispose before landfilling or use in China. Vitrification treatment technology can realize solidification and storage of heavy metals permanently, decomposition of dioxins completely via high temperature melting and rapid cooling treatment, which is expected to become the mainstream process of harmless treatment of hazardous waste in the future. With the national standard named “Technical specification for solid waste vitrification product” implements, there will be regulations to follow for harmless treatment of hazardous waste, especially for hazardous waste incineration bottom slag. The paper is conducted on vitrification treatment technology for hazardous waste incineration slag generated in a domestic hazardous waste incineration plant. Glass pellets that can meets the national standard requirements are prepared, which can provide practical guidance for the harmless treatment of hazardous waste incineration slag.
