| Abstract Scope |
The tuyere is one of the key equipment of the ironmaking blast furnace, which provides hot air and coal powder to the furnace. However, the tuyere is subjected to extreme working environments, such as the impact of hot air above 1200 ℃ and erosion of molten slag-iron. This will lead to frequent damage and replacement of the tuyere, which is not conducive to the stability of the blast furnace. Through microstructural analysis of the of the damaged tuyere, the damage to the tuyere is mainly caused by the erosion of molten slag-iron. The ceramic coatings including bond layer, transition layer and top layer were prepared on the front and side surfaces of the tuyere by plasma spraying, to prevent the erosion of molten slag-iron. Through industrial testing applications, the lifespan has been increased by 72%, and the microstructural analysis was conducted on the offline coated tuyere. |
