| Abstract Scope |
The inaugural EGA Technical Leadership Program conducted by R&D Carbon was successfully completed in 2025 for the first cohort of UAE engineers. In the same year, EGA defined a second cohort of talented candidates to further develop their technical leadership capabilities. Over a 35-week period, the participants successfully completed the six milestones of the Technical Leadership Program.
In parallel to theoretical studies and practical shop floor activities, the participants elaborated individual diploma theses. They investigated the influence of each processing step of the anode production chain on the specific electrical resistance and the stub-to-carbon voltage drop of the rodded anode. Using operational data from EGA, the studies quantify the contribution of individual production steps to these KPIs and demonstrate their impact on energy efficiency and smelter profitability.
This paper presents the key findings of each thesis and shows the influence of anode production parameters on selected smelter KPIs. |
