| Abstract Scope |
Since the discovery of graphene, interest in 2D polymers such as 2D Polyaramids and Covalent Organic Frameworks (COFs) has been on the rise. With a view to better understand these novel materials, an overview of their preparation and properties is presented in this study. The investigation is primarily driven by Materium Technologies’ interest in developing polymers with excellent electronic properties, barrier performance, optical functionality, and mechanical durability. The potential role of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques in guiding the design, synthesis, and optimization of 2D polymers and 2D COFs is examined in detail. Machine Learning can support this effort by representing monomer structures, linkage chemistries, pore topologies, stacking modes, and processing conditions as quantitative descriptors that connect synthesis variables to measurable outcomes. |
