| Abstract Scope |
Energy harvesting is an efficient way to operate the distributed sensors. To harvest the weak stray magnetic noise, Magneto-Mechano-Electric (MME) energy generator was developed. The performance of MME can be improved by modulating the piezoelectric materials, designing the device shape for the fixed frequency, and device packaging. For example, we introduce the magnetic lens, which are composed of high permeability and packaged with MME harvester. The magnetic lens was found to enhance the output voltage of MME generator by concentrating the magnetic flux originating from the weak magnetic field sources. The feasibility of the use of the magnetic lens as a magnetic flux concentrator was evaluated by experiment and FEM analysis. The MME generator with a magnetic lens composed of four ferrites exhibited enhancement of 388 % and 225 % over that of MME generator without a lens and with a lens composed of one ferrite, respectively. |
