Abstract Scope In terms of recycling and circular economy, glass is the reference material because its volumes are comparatively high and its proportion steadily rises, especially in certain applications such as packaging. To further increase effective recycling rates, it is necessary to develop new technologies that need to be more flexible in terms of operating parameters, energy consumption, low- and medium-duty lots, and the ability to recycle different types of glass. This paper presents a new strategy: the EverGLASS project, funded by the European Union, that aims to contribute to extend glass recycling. The general objective will be to develop a technology of laser glass transformation to enable the integral recycling of all kinds of glass. To accomplish this goal, the conditioned glass waste is melted by means of laser radiation, and additively deposited to produce fully dense glass parts in a single process without requiring binders, moulds or filaments.
