Abstract Scope |
This study on the design and construction of a modified crushing machine was done, owing to the high price of new crushing machine in Nigerian research institutes. The drawing of the machine was designed using solid works software, metal scraps were used for fabrication of each part and the assembled. The machine has a length of 996mm, height of 700mm and width of 696mm. The performance of the machine was tested using the set of sieves and a pan. The fabricated crushing machine has a milling efficiency of 91.8%, with the machine operated by an electric motor of 5.6 KW and a rotor speed of 1080 rpm; the test running was done using bottle glass. The particles were collected from the set of sieves and pan; it can be used for partial replacement of fine sand for concrete production and gravel upgrade for concrete production, glass for cement replacement. |
