| Abstract Scope |
Vanadium‑based cathodes generally exhibit sluggish ion diffusion and poor structural stability, leading to unsatisfactory performance in rechargeable magnesium batteries (RMBs). Developing cathodes that combine a stable structure with high ionic conductivity is therefore essential for improving their Mg-storage performance. In this work, an NaHV6O16∙nH2O (HNVO) cathode material with layered structure was prepared by facile coprecipitation. The Intercalated H+ alleviates the strong interaction between Mg2+ and the host lattice, thereby facilitating Mg2+ transport. Meanwhile, the stable crystal structure enables excellent long-term cycling stability, with a capacity retention of 92.5% after 3,000 cycles at 1 A g‒1. This simple strategy for constructing cathodes with a stable framework and favorable ion-diffusion kinetics offers a new route toward high-performance vanadium-based magnesium batteries. |
