Abstract Scope |
In this work, the phase stability of chemically modified Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide (IGZO) prepared at 1300 °C in air is presented. It is well known that indium occupies the octahedral site in this layered ceramic material with hexagonal crystal structure. Indium was systematically substituted by Sc, Lu, and Yb, with an increasing configurational entropy approach, and the phases present at equilibrium were identified by X-ray Powder diffraction (XRD). Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) with EDS analysis was used to confirm the phases and compositions, as well as elemental mapping was used to validate the phases with homogeneous cation distribution. While the IGZO-type phase remains stable when combining In and Sc at the octahedral site, the equilibrium shifts to two or three phases upon addition of Lu and subsequently Yb. |
