| Abstract Scope |
SFW has extensive experience in successfully burning a wide range of fuels in boilers. Through comprehensive testing at laboratory, pilot and commercial-scale facilities, SFW has developed advanced models and databases to estimate fouling and corrosion risks for nearly any fuel type. By maintaining continuous technical awareness and up-to-date knowledge, SFW is focused on developing tailored solutions for emerging, customer-driven requirements.
Metallurgical Waste Heat Boilers (WHBs) now face new demands compared to boilers designed 20-30 years ago. Traditionally operating in corrosive environments due to ore-derived feedstock, WHBs must now handle increasingly variable and aggressive materials from evolving smelting processes and recycling streams. With fouling and corrosion becoming more challenging, stricter emission regulations simultaneously call for further changes in smelting process design.
Emission control has long been an integral part of power boiler performance design. Effective corrosion and fouling mitigation require accurate process understanding and thereafter appropriate
material selection. |
