Abstract Scope |
Prof. Peter Voorhees has made seminal contributions to the field of microstructural evolution. His work on coarsening of complex microstructures is among the areas of research that defined his career. In this presentation, his research on coarsening will be reviewed, with an emphasis on collaborative works between Prof. Voorhees and myself, and subsequent research inspired by them will be presented. The topics will range from coarsening of precipitates with misfit strain and coarsening in high-volume fraction systems to coarsening of bicontinuous microstructures. The presentation will illustrate the extensive contributions and impact of Prof. Voorhees’ work across theory, simulations, and experiments. |
