Abstract Scope |
In response to the surging global demand for sustainable and competitive aluminum production, NEO ALUMINUM ECOWAS has engineered a comprehensive modernization roadmap for Ghana's Volta Aluminium Company Limited (VALCO). Underpinned by proven technologies and global ESG standards, the strategy is centered on three pillars: (i) maximizing existing infrastructure to achieve 70 kt/year across two reduction lines while reviving billet production to enhance financial performance and investor confidence; (ii) constructing a state-of-the-art independent reduction line with a capacity of 350 kt/year; and (iii) expanding Ghana's power generation capacity to supply VALCO with 100% renewable energy. Endorsed by the Government of Ghana, this initiative delivers a robust technical and commercial framework designed to elevate VALCO's total output to 420 kt/year, firmly positioning it as Africa's most advanced green aluminum smelter and a catalyst for sustainable industrial growth in West Africa. |
