| Abstract Scope |
Integrated computational materials engineering has evolved into a critical tool for the design, deployment, and sustainment of materials across industries. This technology is enabled by combining state-of-the-art modeling and simulation tools with advanced characterization and testing across length scales to capture the physics of process-structure-property linkages for materials. Since 1997 QuesTek has been a pioneer in this field, including extensive collaboration with Dr. David L. McDowell. This talk will cover how both full field methods ranging from atomistics (DFT), to microstructure (CPFEM), to component scale (FEM), as well as mean field methods (CALPHAD and Mechanistic analytical modeling) have been integrated to achieve breakthroughs in technology across internal combustion engines for automotive, jet engines for aerospace, and rocket engines for space. |
