| Abstract Scope |
Research on two-dimensional (2D) materials has blossomed since the isolation of graphene in 2004. One such 2D material is AgMo6Te6, which is a layered metal with each layer consisting of molybdenum-tellurium infinite chains linked by silver atoms. The material is of interest due to its complex, anisotropic structure, layered nature, and crystal and electronic band structures that are similar to those of some superconductors. In this study, we synthesize pristine AgMo6Te6 and study its structure and electronic and magnetic properties. Additionally, we intercalate the material with sodium in an attempt to induce interesting physics, such as superconductivity, in the material. |
