| Abstract Scope |
Understanding the structural and microstructural evolution of BaTiO3: Eu3+ ferroelectric ceramics, sintered at 1200°C, is crucial for optimizing their dielectric and optoelectronic properties Quantitative SEM characterization is often hindered by the limitations of traditional manual counting and generic commercial software. To address this, a specialized MATLAB App Designer software was developed. The automated workflow incorporates CLAHE contrast enhancement, spatial filtering, and adaptive thresholding to resolve complex ceramic matrix textures. The native algorithm achieves a >90% detection efficiency within seconds for dense populations (>500 particles). Furthermore, an interactive manual editing module enables real-time correction of merged or omitted grains, elevating statistical precision to 99% while drastically reducing processing time and user-associated variability. This specialized tool establishes an efficient, reproducible standard for the automated statistical metrology of advanced electroceramics. |
