| Abstract Scope |
Generally speaking, nearly all Orientation Distribution Function (ODF) algorithms can be characterized as either Finite Element Mesh based (FEM-based) or Fourier-based, each of which have application-specific advantages and disadvantages. However, to the author’s knowledge, no symmetry-aware Fourier-based ODF algorithm has been implemented in a python package to date. To this end, we present an open source, computationally efficient Fourier-based ODF with a python API based on the Wigner Matrices as parameterized by C.S. Man(2022). An application of this tool is presented for ff-HEDM synchrotron data showing the potential advantages over comparable FEM-based methods for applications utilizing pole figure inversion. |
