Abstract Scope |
Thermodynamic databases constructed using the CALPHAD method are intensively used in the process control, alloy development and understanding. These databases are continuously updated to cope with new experimental information.
There is also a increasing use of these databases in microstructure and alloy mechanical performance simulations. The effort to include quantities like e.g. elastic stiffness, is in progress and this demand brings the quantum mechanic based material databases in evidence as these quantities and others can be provided.
In this talk an overview of the present available databases of the two types, applied to Co/Ni alloys will be reviewed. A guide about how to use and combine these data based on an ICME approach will be reported. |
