| Abstract Scope |
The Department of Energy Office of Nuclear Energy Light Water Reactor Sustainability Program Long-Term Performance Pathway conducts critical research to ensure the enduring functionality of essential systems, structures, and components within light water reactors. This research aims to develop advanced techniques and methods for long-term management, focusing on crucial areas such as reactor pressure vessels, core internals, and pressure boundaries. Additional areas of emphasis include mitigation technologies, concrete degradation, and cable degradation. The overarching goal is to support long-term operation, power uprate, reactor restart, and the accelerated deployment of new reactors. This presentation provides an overview of the objectives, methodologies, significant accomplishments, and forthcoming research activities within the Long-Term Performance pathway, highlighting its commitment to enhancing reactor longevity and safety. |
