| Abstract Scope |
This talk outlines the efforts of the International Institute of Welding (IIW) in advancing smart manufacturing techniques in welding, including additive manufacturing (AM), through its annual Symposium on Intelligent Welding Manufacturing over the past five years. The symposium covers key areas such as sensing, monitoring, dynamic modeling, adaptive control, and the robotization of welding processes. It also explores human-robot collaborative welding and the application of deep learning, artificial intelligence, computer vision, image and signal processing, and data-driven approaches to welding. |
