| Abstract Scope |
Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) has become an important additive manufacturing technology for producing high-performance polymer composites. This study investigated the influence of printing speed and line width on the thermal behavior of a high-temperature polyamide reinforced with 15 wt.% short carbon fibers (PAHT-CF15). Specimens were fabricated using four combinations of printing parameters, with extrusion speeds ranging from 230 to 270 mm/s and line widths from 0.3 to 0.4 mm. Thermal characterization was performed by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA). DSC results showed a melting temperature of approximately 243 °C for all conditions, indicating that the evaluated parameters did not significantly affect the crystalline structure of the polymer matrix. TGA revealed similar degradation behavior, with thermal decomposition beginning near 360 °C. Differences in residual mass suggested that processing conditions influenced degradation mechanisms, although overall thermal stability remained comparable among the printed specimens. |
