| Abstract Scope |
Only a couple people have had a stronger influence on my professional career than Prof. Robert Wagoner. He helped recruit me to Ohio State, mentored me very actively, introduced me to sheet metal forming in a proper way and became a close friend who generously shared technical expertise and his worldview with me. We did a lot of cool work together; collaborated on several projects and wrote many papers together.
I will give a survey of some of the most interesting work we did together that spans topics from studies on speed/rate effects in ductility and formability, equipment development, mismatch plasticity in composites and constitutive relations. Some of these studies form the foundation for current work, and there are also ideas that deserve further exploration. I will weave in life lessons from a wonderful, intelligent and sorely missed friend and colleague. |
