Abstract Scope |
To increase corrosion resistance, coatings that form passive films are required. When tested in a 15% aqueous solution of sulfuric acid, the best resistance is shown by aluminized coatings alloyed with chromium and titanium, which have the following weight loss rates: 22.4 and 20.5 g/m2. The coatings were obtained by using functionally acidic blends during pickling of the surface of steel coils, after cold rolling at mill 1680. The protective effect of the experimental coatings reaches 95.19-97.05% in sulfuric acid, 92.72-94.34% in nitric acid, and 93.12-95.26% in hydrochloric acid. Corrosion rate dependences of steel 45 with alloyed alitized coatings in 15% aqueous acid solutions: H2SO4, HNO3, HCl on the type of alloying, which are described by a fifth-order polynomial. The obtained corrosion rate dependences on the test time prove that the coatings are passivated in acids. |
