| Abstract Scope |
Diabetic wounds are characterized by persistent hyperglycemia, excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS), and chronic inflammation, resulting in delayed healing. Here, we present a microenvironment-modulating hydrogel for diabetic wound healing. During the inflammatory phase, elevated ROS triggers localized therapeutic release to reduce oxidative stress and inflammation, promoting transition toward a regenerative microenvironment. As healing progresses, a stable ionic network maintains ionic conductivity independent of drug release, supporting endogenous bioelectrical signaling during tissue regeneration. By combining responsive therapeutic delivery with sustained ionic support, this platform provides continuous microenvironment modulation and represents a promising strategy for enhancing diabetic wound healing. |
