| Abstract Scope |
Epoxy resins are widely used in structural and coating applications due to their mechanical strength, chemical resistance, and versatility. However, the incorporation of bio-based modifiers has gained increasing attention as a strategy to enhance toughness and promote sustainability in polymer systems. Cardanol, a phenolic compound derived from cashew nutshell liquid (CNSL), presents itself as a promising renewable modifier for epoxy matrices, owing to its renewable origin. In this context, the present work investigates the effect of mechanical mixing time, ranging from 1 to 7 hours, on the flexural strength of epoxy/cardanol binary composites (90/10 wt.%). This study contributes to a broader understanding of processing-property relationships in bio-based epoxy systems, supporting the development of more sustainable and economical composite materials for structural applications. |
