Abstract Scope |
Magnesium alloys have gained significant attention in lightweight manufacturing for automotive, aerospace, and electronics industries due to their high strength-to-weight ratio and recyclability. Semi-solid processing, characterized by thixotropic forming, offers reduced porosity, isotropic globular microstructure, better fluidity, and less mold wear compared to conventional casting methods. Recent trends include the development of new Thixomolding process and advanced creep resistant Magnesium alloys further enhanced the high-performance magnesium applications. This abstract explains recent advancements in magnesium product development and semi-solid processing technologies, a key enabler for complex-shaped component fabrication with improved mechanical properties. |
