Abstract Scope |
Small-scale mechanical testing can effectively isolate specific deformation and failure mechanisms in the lattice and at interfaces. Extending such experiments to high temperatures provides new pathways towards parameterizing statistical models for deformation and failure in oxides and alloys. This talk discusses how small-scale in situ transmission electron microscopy base mechanical testing over a broad range of temperatures and stresses provide a basis for defining deformation mechanism maps and predicting materials response generally. |
