| Abstract Scope |
It is critical to reduce atmospheric CO2 concentrations because elevated levels drive climate change, leading to a cascade of negative impacts on the planet and its inhabitants. In this work, a defective ZIF-8 generated by ball milling is reported for CO2 adsorption. It was found that the reversible adsorption capacity of CO2 on the defective ZIF-8 is higher than that on ZIF-8 without ball milling. Furthermore, the effect of ball milling parameters on the reversible CO2 capacity of defective ZIF-8 was investigated. This work will provide critical insight into how engineered defects influence CO₂ uptake, informing the rational design of advanced sorbents for carbon capture. |
