| Abstract Scope |
An innovative process for electroslag restoration of steel parts weighing up to 150 kg with worn spline and threaded connections, necks, and journals has been developed. The most cost-effective and efficient restoration scheme is the "butt-to-butt" restoration scheme, which allows for high-quality restoration of parts with a diameter of up to 250 mm.
Optimal electrometallurgical modes of the restoration process have been established for each part, and special equipment has been developed to ensure high-quality connections of the main forged and cast electroslag metals.
Studies of the macro- and microstructure of the metal of the restored parts have completed high-quality repairs. The metal restored elements are distinguished by an exceptionally dense macro- and microstructure with no non-metallic inclusions, microporosity, resistance to sulfur and gas content limitations. Heat treatment improves the physical and mechanical properties of the metal of the restored element by 20-35%. |
