| Abstract Scope |
In this study, two kinds of water model experiments have been performed to simulate the coagulation and the adhesion behaviors of inclusions and bubbles in the pouring nozzle. One experiment is to clarify the effect of contact angles on the coagulation of bubbles and particles in the pouring nozzle. With application of swirl flow, the effect of wettability on the adhesion and the coagulation of particles and bubbles could be captured by using high speed microscope system. The other experiment is to simulate the adhesion of inclusions on the nozzle wall. By stirring motion of water, the particles were transported by centrifuge and the particles adhered onto the acrylic plate in poor wettable conditions. On the other hand, no particles adhered onto the plate in good wettable conditions. Moreover, theoretical models have been proposed to evaluate the coagulation force and the adhesion force and to explain the aforementioned experimental results. |
