Abstract Scope |
This work investigates the effects of forging on the microstructure and mechanical properties of AISI 316LSi fabricated via Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM). Two approaches were studied: (1) thick-walled 316LSi deposits fabricated by WAAM followed by forging (cold or hot) on the extracted samples, and (2) sequential forging applied during the WAAM deposition process. For both approaches, the influence of forging on microstructure, ferrite content, and mechanical properties of the 316LSi deposits across different orientations will be reported. |
