Abstract Scope |
The anode beam raising operation is one of the most critical activities in the routine of an aluminum potroom plant, due to its direct impact on operational stability, safety, and line efficiency. Traditionally, this procedure is carried out based on fixed time windows. This work presents a technical-operational study aimed at demonstrating how to increase the number of metal tapping before raising the anode beam, without compromising cell integrity or operational safety. Through field analyses, it was possible to increase the average beam raising cycle from 8 to 9.33 days. This change resulted in greater operator availability for other activities and freed up equipment for preventive maintenance, optimizing the use of available resources. The study describes the implemented actions, the challenges faced, and the benefits achieved, proving that revising the beam raising logic represents a real opportunity for operational gains in the potroom. |
