The integration of advanced thermomechanical simulation is essential in modern metallurgy, bridging laboratory research and industrial production. This work highlights the GLEEBLE™ 3800 as a reliable tool for parameter validation and line commissioning. Two industrial cases are presented. First, continuous annealing and galvanizing cycles for low-carbon strips were reproduced. Using the ProQuench module, thermal gradients were kept below 15°C, ensuring complete recrystallization and microstructures consistent with industrial results. Ultimate tensile strength (UTS) values matched industrial data, even without laboratory skin-pass rolling, confirming simulation accuracy. The second case examines AHSS S700MC via plane strain compression with the Hydrawedge™ II module. The study identified the non-recrystallization temperature (Tnr) and established constitutive equations using a hyperbolic sine law. Simulated finishing conditions produced ferritic grain sizes comparable to industrial hot-rolled coils, demonstrating the capability of GLEEBLE to predict material behavior under high-strain conditions. |
