Magnetorheological finishing (MRF) is prone to fringe effects, reducing optical elements' effective aperture and imaging quality. To achieve high-precision manufacturing and full-band error convergence for large aperture optics, a dwell time compensation method based on edge removal function reconstruction is proposed. Simulation shows compensated surface shape predictions with PV=0.0878λ and RMS=0.0021λ, with uniform residual distribution and no edge effects. Experiments on a 100 mm×100 mm aperture optical element yielded PV=0.093λ and RMS=0.006λ post-polishing, with no edge effects and a 14.6% increase in effective aperture. The method proves stable, reliable, and effective in suppressing MRF edge effects. |
