| Abstract Scope |
The lack of coordination between power supply and oxygen injection limits the energy efficiency of hot metal charging in an ECO ARC electric arc furnace (EAF). To address this issue, a task-oriented stage-wise coordinated energy supply optimization method was proposed for an 89 t ECO ARC EAF. Based on energy balance analysis, the steelmaking process was divided into four stages according to stage-specific metallurgical tasks. A multi-objective optimization model was established with stage-wise power input and oxygen flow rate as decision variables to minimize production cost and energy consumption. Industrial validation involving 130 heats showed that the optimized operation reduced the production cost by 19.48 RMB/t, decreased the comprehensive energy consumption by 3.09 kgce/t, and shortened the tap-to-tap time by 7.84 min. The proposed method improves the coordination between energy supply and metallurgical tasks, providing an effective solution for energy-efficient ECO ARC EAF steelmaking. |
