| Abstract Scope |
Bilayer transition metal dichalcogenides, TMDs, have attracted significant attention due to the emergence of stacking order and twist angle as new degrees of freedom for tuning their properties. These structural parameters provide exciting opportunities for applications in electronics, optoelectronics, and quantum information science. In this talk, I will present our recent progress in the controlled synthesis and characterization of TMD bilayers with well-defined stacking configurations. I will discuss how substrates influence the growth sequence and stacking order of bilayers, as well as how bilayer stacking affects laser hyperthermal implantation for doping two-dimensional materials. Finally, I will introduce the optical properties and exciton dynamics of TMD bilayers, highlighting the relationship between atomic structure and light–matter interactions in these systems.
