| Abstract Scope |
The blast furnace is the core equipment in the ironmaking process, with its hearth, the critical bottom section, typically determining the overall campaign life of the furnace. This study employs a digital twin model, coupling flow and heat transfer models for computational analysis to assess hearth erosion trends, thereby enabling smart operation and maintenance. Production practices demonstrate that air gaps are the primary destroyer of the hearth lining. Promptly identifying and addressing these through modeling, and establishing effective thermal conduction systems, are key to achieving long campaign life and sustainability in blast furnace hearths. |
