| Abstract Scope |
Cu-5.7 wt%Ge (SFE15) and Cu-9.0 wt%Ge (SFE8) alloys with a bimodal grain size distribution were successfully fabricated by room-temperature cold rolling followed by short-time annealing. The effects of rolling reduction(60% and 80%) and annealing temperature (375◦C, 400◦C and 425◦C) on the microstructural evolution and mechanical properties were systematically investigated. The results show that the SFE8-60%-400◦C and SFE15 -60%-400◦C specimens exhibit an excellent strength-ductility synergy. Loading-unloadingreloading tests demonstrate that the bimodal samples exhibit higher hetero-deformation induced (HDI) stress, confirming the synergistic strengthening mechanism between soft and hard zones. Digital image correlation analysis reveals uniform strain distribution during tensile deformation, effectively delaying localized necking. |
