| Abstract Scope |
This work presents the production of agglomerated stones using quartzite and granite waste associated with castor oil-based polyurethane resin as a binding matrix. The development of the compositions was carried out using Central Composite Design (CCD). The stones were produced using the vacuum vibro- thermo-compression technique. Two distinct formulations containing mineral waste were produced and subjected to hard body impact resistance, three-point bending strength, and abrasion wear tests, performed according to the standards of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards (ABNT). The results obtained demonstrated performance compatible with the properties expected for materials applied in the coatings and ornamental stone sector, contributing to the study of the use of mineral waste in sustainable composites. |
