| Abstract Scope |
The drastic growth of portable devices and electric vehicles urgently requires batteries to achieve high energy density and high safety. Due to the flammability and limited energy density of Li-ion batteries, solid-state batteries are regarded as the most promising energy storage platforms. However, the development of solid-state battery is still facing with the issues of limited Li-ion transport across electrode/solid-electrolyte interface, the strain-induce mechanical degradation due to sluggish Li-ion diffusivity within electrode, the lack of appropriate materials of electrodes and electrolyte. Hence, the fundamental understanding of Li-ion transport is urgently needed in order to realize high-energy-density batteries. In this work, we have successfully synthesized lattice-oriented additive-free LiCoO2 electrodes with various controllable lattice orientation, different thickness and different grain sizes. We believe the mechanistic study of Li-ion diffusion on lattice-oriented additive-free electrodes will provide with insight of designing high energy density all-solid-state batteries. |
