F-1: A Review of Research on Alumina Extraction from High-alumina Fly Ash and a New Method for Preparing Alumina by Electrotransformation: Xiuxiu Han1; Ting-an Zhang1; Guozhi Lv1; Xijuan Pan1; Daxue Fu1; 1Northeastern University
    Under the shortage of bauxite and alumina resources conditions, high-alumina fly ash has become a potential resource containing aluminum. The comprehensive utilization of its high value-added elements is the primary task of environmental protection and sustainable development. In order to solve difficult comprehensive utilization of valuable components in high-alumina ash problem, the existing traditional research methods of high-alumina ash are summarized and compared in this paper. And a new method for the treatment of high-alumina fly ash by electrotransformation is proposed. This new method can realize slag reduction, no waste acid, no alkali, cycle, and so on. It can be concluded that this new method can effectively treat high-alumina fly ash and realize the comprehensive utilization of valuable components of high-alumina fly ash.

F-2: Effect of Sodium Alkali Concentration on Calcification-carbonization Process: Yang Chen1; Ting-an Zhang1; Guozhi Lv1; Xi Chao1; 1Northeastern University
    The calcification carbonization method is a new type of hydrometallurgical process, which can realize the scale and effective utilization of the Bayer red mud. In order to reduce the water consumption of the process and realize the recycling of the low alkali concentration solution generated in the process, the effects of the alkali concentration of the calcification reaction solution and the alkali concentration of the carbonization reaction solution on the calcification carbonization process were investigated in this study. The experimental results showed that the low alkali concentration (Na2O <50 g/L) solution had no significant effect on the calcification carbonization process, and the Al2O3 recovery rate fluctuates between 34.11 % and 36.74 %. As the alkali concentration of the solution increases (Na2O>50 g/L), the Al2O3 recovery rate decreases rapidly.

F-3: Flow field Characteristics in Self-stirring Reactor based on PIV Technology: Zimu Zhang1; Qiuyue Zhao1; Shuai Zhu1; Ting-an Zhang1; 1Northeastern University
    Based on the existing problems of pressurized reactors in the metallurgical and chemical industries, combined with the principle of energy recovery of hydraulic turbines, a self-stirring tubular reactor driven by pressure energy is proposed, which combines the advantages of autoclaves and conventional tubular digestion equipment. The PIV technique is used to study the agitated flow field in the self-stirring reactor. When the nozzle outlet pressure is 0.5MPa, the fluid velocity is 0.98mPa•s and 2.03mPa•s, the maximum velocity of the flow field is about 0.26 m.s^(-1), and The maximum speed of the fluid viscosity is 3.07mPa•s is about 0.2 m.s^(-1); when the influencing factors are the same, when the fluids with different viscosities are used as the flowing medium, the slanting driving wheel under the same pressure condition, the viscosity is larger, and the flow field speed is smaller.

F-4: Investigation on Heat Resisting Cast Iron Produced Through Carbothermic Reduction of Alumina Residue (Bayer Red Mud): Jianmin Zeng1; Ke Zhu1; Zimeng Tan1; Aoping He1; 1Guangxi University
    A heat resisting cast iron was prepared by adding an amounts of metal nickel to the cast iron that had been recoveried by carbothermal reduction of Bayer red mud (RM cast iron for short). The thermal behavior of RM cast iron was investigated by thermal analysis.The results show that the heat resistance of RM cast iron increases with the increasing of nickel content untill the nickel content gets to 22%. The weight loss of the samples during heating were compared among RM cast iron, QTANi35Si5Cr2 and RuTRSi4Mo1.The results showed the three alloys have a theoretical transition point,after which the oxidation suddenly increases.The transition point temperatures of RM-22,QTANi35Si5Cr2 and RuTRSi4Mo1 are 1092℃, 1160℃ and 1116℃ respectively. The mechanical properties of RM cast iron are better than those of QTANi35Si5Cr2 and RuTRSi4Mo1.In conclusion, RM cast iron is a high cost-effective material for automobile exhaust pipe.
