Scope Over the past few decades, there has been a growing interest by both public and corporate stakeholders to reduce the impact of products and services on the environment. To this end, the materials community plays an important role in helping create and deliver environmentally friendly solutions to support this emerging demand. This symposium will provide a forum to showcase current research and applications related to sustainable materials development, selection, processing and usage.

Topics include (but are not limited to):
• Materials design and selection to reduce environmental impact
• Sustainable materials processing and manufacturing
• The circular economy of materials
• Life cycle assessment of materials and processes
• Renewable/bio-based materials
• End of life considerations (recycling, biodegradation)
• Materials for green technologies (e.g. alternative energy, carbon capture and utilization)
• Relevant case studies highlighting sustainable practices
