Scope Full understanding of material response during shaping & forming processes used to produce metal components is crucial to be able to optimize component performance and process efficiency. This symposium focuses on microstructure and mechanical property developments in metals resulting from new, advanced processes and the application of novel alloys in current processes. Abstracts are encouraged in, but not limited to, the following areas of interest:

Advances in theory

Modeling of material response during processing

Novel processes

Processing to control and design microstructure

Mechanical response of advanced alloys

Effects of strain rate, strain state, temperature, and pressure on material response

Superplastic behavior

Sheet and bulk processing
