Scope Today's materials such as polymers, glass or alloys for use under tough conditions, had become more and more tedious and difficult because of the many required materials properties. Lack of robust and accurate physics based models for many of the properties of interest makes if more and more difficult for design of such materials. Existence of data of good quality, much improved algorithms for regression have made it possible to build artificial intelligence based models for fast and robust design of materials. Many groups from academic and industrial settings have been working in different materials design methods. A symposium regrouping experts with different materials design perspectives could benefit the general materials science community.This symposia will focus on the development of advanced AI based methods for materials design, process design and optimization.
