Scope Biomaterials are the materials that are natural or synthetic, alive, or lifeless, and made of multiple components. In recent years, biomaterials have been explored to enormous potential applications in medicine, biology, physics, chemistry, tissue engineering, and materials science. The impacts of computational modeling, data science, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML) on biomaterial design, development, and deployment are dramatically growing due to rich computing resources, advanced development in computational and data science methods, and capabilities of integrating experimental, computational, data science, AI/ML approaches (i.e., Integrated Computational Materials Engineering ICME) in research. ICME for biomaterials is of great research interest to study the inherent properties of biomaterials and leverage the properties to explore potential applications in medical field, energy, electronics, and quantum information science etc. This symposium provides an international forum to discuss the latest advances in ICME for biomaterials.

This symposium focuses on all aspects of computational modeling, data science, AI/ML of biomaterials. Topics include, but not limited to, 1) Biomaterial design and modification; 2) Multiscale modeling method development and applications for biomaterials; 3) AI / ML for biomaterials; 4) Biomaterial databases and platforms; and 5) Integration of experiment, computational modeling, data science, AI/ML to advance biomaterial research.
