Scope The manufacturing of aerospace materials has recently seen innovations across a wide spectrum of technologies. This symposium will be organized into several sessions concentrating on topic areas including: forging, cogging, rolling, and superplastic forming, casting, machining, heat treatment and distortion, additive manufacturing, welding and joining. A variety of aerospace materials will be covered, including superalloys, titanium, aluminum and other metallic systems of interest. The use of computational modeling and simulation will be highlighted in the development and implementation of these technologies where applicable, demonstrating the concepts of integrated computational materials engineering (ICME). Invited speakers will include the leadership of the materials and manufacturing departments at major aerospace corporations, engine manufacturers, forging, casting, and primary metals operations, as well as representatives from the government agencies (AFRL, ONR, DARPA) and academia.
