||This symposium aims to provide an opportunity for students and early career professionals to start a dialog with experienced materials science and engineering professionals in an effort to help them make informed decisions for their upcoming career paths.
This annual symposium covers a wide range of relevant topics to an emerging professional, including: career perspectives and advice from government labs, academia, and industry; job searches, job satisfaction, career mobility; entrepreneurship, small business, licensure, and intellectual property; volunteerism, international experiences; continuing materials training and education opportunities; emerging careers and professional development in the new economy; among others.
Contributed talks are strongly encouraged from all affiliate societies, education levels and across the range of career lengths. The number of talks in the symposium will be limited and will feature keynote talks where available. A panel discussion session is planned so that a dialog can take place between speakers, students, and early career professionals on the topics presented.
