Symposium Additive Manufacturing of Metals: Post Processing

Scope Additive Manufacturing (AM) of metals has come a long way and the industry is starting to adopt these technologies for production. While the current AM metal technologies can fabricate complex geometries out of various alloy systems there is still a need for post processing.

The purpose of this symposium is to review and discuss various technologies that will help achieve the final geometry as well as material and mechanical properties required for end applications within different industries.

Suitable topics for this symposium include, but are not limited to:
-Finish machining of metal AM components to achieve required surface finishing and geometrical tolerances
-Surface modifications of metal AM components to improve surface characteristics
-HIPing of metal AM components
-Heat treatments of metal AM components
- Other types of post processing that will enhance the performance of a metal AM component.
